CCTV footage has provided crucial insights into the movements of marathoner Kelvin Kiptum leading up to his tragic death alongside his coach, Gervais Hakizimana, in a road accident along Eldoret Kaptagat Road. It has been revealed that Kiptum visited three different restaurants in Eldoret on the day of the incident.

At his last destination, Grand Miamir Guesthouse, Kiptum ordered meat and boiled bananas, amounting to KSh 3,150, which he paid via MPESA and left at around 10.25pm. The footage also showed Kiptum, Hakizimana, and a lady named Sharon Kosgei at Wells Irish hotel from 6:36 pm to 8:58 pm. Customers confirmed Kiptum’s regular presence at the hotel.

Further investigations showed that Kiptum had visited other establishments including Talex Inn, Car Wash, and Wells Irish hotels in Rupa Mall. He placed an order for the meal at Grand Miamir Guesthouse at 9:12 pm and settled the bill at 10:16 pm.

“He visited our hotel at around 9:12 pm and ordered meat and boiled bananas. After completing his meal, he left at around 10:25 pm,” revealed an insider at the joint. The unfolding details from the CCTV footage continues to provide valuable information for the ongoing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident that occurred on Sunday, February 11.
