Gervais Hakizimana perished through a tragic road accident this month, he was travelling in the same car with world marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum with another one lady. Kevin was the one driving the car and it accidentally got off road and hit a nearby tree taking the life of Gervais and Kevin Kiptum.
Gervais Hakizimana is a Rwandanese national and he was the one coaching Kelvin in regard to his marathon careeer, the two had watched an premier league match in Eldoret and they were rushing to another joint to watch another match but they never made it to their destination.
The late Gervais Hakizimana has been laid to rest today in Rwanda, the cabinet secretary for sports Abubu Namwamba has attended the burial and the Kenyan government has condoled with the family of Gervais by donating Ksh. 5,000,000 to them. The late Kevin will be laid to rest later this month.
