The burial ceremony of marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum has been rescheduled due to President William Ruto’s busy calendar. The burial was originally set for Saturday, February 24, 2024, the ceremony will now take place a day earlier, on Friday, February 23, 2024.

A spokesperson for the Kiptum family addressed the media, explaining that the decision to move the burial date was made to accommodate President Ruto’s attendance. The Head of State is expected to pay his respects to Kiptum before embarking on an official visit to Namibia.

The late Kelvin Kiptum, renowned for his exceptional athletic prowess, had captured the world’s attention with his record-breaking performances in marathon running. His sudden demise has deeply saddened the global sporting community, prompting an outpouring of condolences and tributes from fans, athletes, and officials alike.
