The Kenyan government broke its silence today and sent a troubling message to all Kenyan nationals living in prestigious local and regional locations.

Today, February 10, 2024, the Kenyan government announced an exponential increase in taxes on five essential products through the Ministry of Treasury.

According to the Kenyan government, citizens of Kenya will now have to pay Ksh 5 stamp duty on beer, instead of Ksh 1.50 as they did prior to the stamp duty review.

The Kenyan government has also declared that, as of right now, all Kenyans who consume juices and spirits must pay a stamp duty of Ksh 2.20 and Ksh 5, respectively, instead of Ksh 2.80 or Ksh 0.60, respectively.

The Kenyan government has also stated that the maximum stamp duties on tobacco and cosmetic products are Ksh 5 and Ksh 2.50, respectively.
