Taking to her Instagram stories few hours ago, Fatima Idha shared videos showing how her eyes were red and itchy, swollen and teary, which are common signs of the viral infection.

 

In one post, Fatima Idha revealed that the pain was so much that she had to take herself to the hospital to get treatment.

“I hate hospitals lakini Jana imebidi Roho safiiiii tu nijipeleke!!!

I could not breathe!!! My eyes were turning purple” she wrote.

Having suffered from the infection, Fatima Idha further urged her Instagram followers to take care of themselves to avoid contracting it.

 

She also gave a morning update today where she revealed that she was now feeling a little better and was even opening her eyes with more ease.

Fatima Idha further disclosed that she was not the only one in her family who was infected with the red eye disease.

She also revealed that her daughter with Brown Mauzo Lareesa Brown also had the infection as well as her brother and sister.

Fatima Idha’s disclosure was however followed up by a statement from the county government of Mombasa, informing its residents to take care as there were many cases of the disease in the region.

Some of the preventive measures that they were to use includes washing their hands with soap and water, using hand sanitizers and also maintaining high levels of hygiene.
