Busia Governor Paul Otuoma is one of the leaders who were present during a church service in Machakusi, Busia County that was attended by His Excellency President William Ruto.
When he was given a chance to speak, Governor Otuoma revealed the conversation that he had with the president just after elections in 2022.
The governor who was elected with an ODM ticket revealed that immediately after election results were announced President Ruto gave him a call to congratulate him and ask him what can be done to help the people of Busia County.
(Your Excellency, when I was elected I was not a member of Kenya Kwanza. I was in ODM and the Azimio coalition. But you called me on phone and congratulated me, the asked what we can do for the people of Busia now that I was elected as a governor and you as the president.)”

Otuoma went further to state that after having that phone conversation with the president he went through Kenya Kwanza’s manifesto and realised that they were in tandem with what he wanted to do for Busia County. That this is the reason why he decided to join Kenya Kwanza as he vowed to work with the president to the end of his term for the benefit of his people.
