Despite the push and pull, ups and downs that were witnessed during the bipartisan talks between Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition, the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) finally completed its work on Saturday with myriads of recommendations to the top leadership of the respective camps.

The committee which was co-chaired by Wiper Party leader and former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa, finally penned down the resolutions of the committee despite them not reaching consensus on host of issues.

In the political front, what conspicuously emerged is the proposal to establish the Office of the Prime Minister who is to be nominated, and upon approval by the National Assembly, appointed by the President.

On the other hand, the Committee has recommended the establishment of the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition, who is the leader of the largest party/coalition of the political parties that garnered the second-greatest number of votes in the immediately preceding presidential elections with two deputies.

As a keen political observer and analyst, should this latest proposal see the light of the day, then it is undoubtedly a win for former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga who is likely to land the slot of the Official Opposition Leader in the country. He is likely to be deputised by Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua who was her running mate in the ladt presidential election alongside Wiper Party Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.

Above is highly and likely probable unless otherwise as may be decided upon by the leadership of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition and the concerned parties.

The die is cast and the ball has been set rolling. Let the unfoldings unfold in the political arena.
