John Olago Oluoch is his name. He was born and reared in Kisumu County’s Seme. He has a postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law, as well as a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Nairobi. Before entering politics, he served as a high court counsel and a resident magistrate.
Olago entered politics after winning the parliamentary seat for Kisumu West in the 2013 and 2017 general elections, but he was unable to defend it in the 2022 elections. Olago is a businessman that owns Maboko alias Camp Tom Island, in addition to being a lawyer and politician. It is situated on a five-acre plot of land in Seme, on Lake Victoria, and may be reached by air or sea transport utilizing power boats.
Olago paid sh500 million for Maboko Island. It has a cutting-edge resort for tourist accommodation, a helipad for helicopter landings, a main block of three self-contained villas, a switching pool, a kid’s playground, and a volleyball court for sporting activities.The location is a tourist destination since it provides spectacular views of Lake Victoria.
