A political showdown is brewing in Rift Valley after two United Democratic Alliance (UDA) MPs allegedly blocked Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro from attending a football tournament organised by Pokot West MP David Pkosing. The event, dubbed David Pkosing Super Cup, was held on Saturday at Kapenguria Stadium and featured teams from West Pokot and Trans Nzoia counties.

According to NTV, Pkosing, who is an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP, had invited Nyoro as his guest of honour, but the latter was barred from accessing the venue by Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto and Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong, both allied to UDA. The two MPs accused Nyoro of disrespecting the local leadership and trying to campaign for UDA leader William Ruto in their turf.

Pkosing condemned the incident and challenged Moroto and Lochakapong to “style up” and respect other leaders. He said Nyoro was his friend and had a right to attend the event. He also dismissed claims that he was using the tournament to woo voters to ODM, saying it was a social event meant to promote peace and cohesion among the communities.
