President William Ruto and Miguna Miguna, who once enjoyed a close political alliance, have reportedly fallen out over the state of the economy, according to Taifa Leo Publication on December 22.

The publication claimed that Miguna, who was openly endorsed by Ruto for the presidency in 2022 and was received back from Canada by Ruto last year, has turned against the president and accused him of failing to deliver on his promises.

Miguna, has been vocal in criticizing Ruto’s KKA government for plunging the country into a debt crisis, imposing more taxes on the citizens, and neglecting the health sector amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Miguna has also claimed that no Kenyan will remember Ruto past 2027, owing to his inability to stabilize the economy and improve the living standards of the people.

Ruto, on the other hand, has dismissed Miguna’s allegations as baseless and motivated by malice, saying that he is working hard to implement his agenda of empowering the common mwananchi and transforming the economy.

Ruto has also accused Miguna of being ungrateful and opportunistic, saying that he helped him return to the country after he was deported by the former Jubilee government.
