In a recent interview with the president that was done a few days back, the president tried to clarify some of the moves and proposals by the government. During the interview, the issue of the proposal by the government to sell the Kenyatta International Convention Center was brought up.

In a bid to defend the proposal, the president claimed that the national landmark was not making much as it managed to collect about 30 million Kenyan shillings last year.

However, this does not appear to be the reality. On recent information shared by Nation media, it appears as if the president might have underquoted the real figures. This is after the media group discovered that the KICC building had collected 956 million in 2022. Apart from that, the building is said to have collected 516 million Kenyan shillings between January and June 2023.

Even though it is not clear where the president got his figures, his recent answers appear to have left Kenyans asking questions.
