A Mugithi musician by the name Kariuki Wendo burnt his guitar and quit music claiming that the singing was mentally draining him.
Karis had been pushing his music and gained fame after singing a song for presenter Joy wa Macharia. Even though the song made him gain fame, radio presenter Joy wa Macharia’s husband became jealous and ordered him to delete it from all social media platforms and never to play it anywhere.
The husband claimed that he would give him money to produce another song. After deleting the song, the man did not give him money as promised.
He began struggling financially considering that he had used a lot of money to produce the song dedicated to presenter Joy wa Macharia.
Following the consistent financial struggles, he made up his mind to burn his guitar as he believed his luck is not in music. It is unclear whether the upcoming musician was going through mental health struggles prior to burning his guitar.
