Kileleshwa ward member of the county assembly Hon Robert Alai has come out to reveal that people were allegedly forced to attend the Jamhuri Day Celebrations that were held today at the Uhuru Gardens.
Alai was informed by one of the youths that attended the Africa Connekt event at KICC that they had not received their stipend. They were told that they must go to Uhuru Gardens after which they will be paid. Failure to attend would see them miss their stipend.
“Before you are paid your stipend, lazima ufike Uhuru Gardens.
Hey Alai,
There’s a group of youth from across the country that has been attending a ‘youth summit’ at KICC. They have been forced to attend jamhuri day before they receive their stipends. Artificial crowds allover.” Alai said.
This revelation has raised mixed reactions from Kenyans who have criticized the Kenya Kwanza government for always forcing people to do what they want and failing to pay their bills. Some people have however said that it is a lie as they have been paid.
