This is because she was among those who were conferred a prestigious state honour by President William Ruto, as the country marked its 60th Jamhuri Day celebrations.
The big news was infact disclosed by the multi award-winning actress via a post on her instagram account and boy she could not hide her joy!
Kate Actress was infact conferred with the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya, and she even posted some photos where she was openly flaunting it for the whole world to see.
“CATHERINE KAMAU OGW! (Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya)! HEAD OF STATE COMMENDATION from his excellency the president Dr. William Samoei Ruto 🇰🇪. Won’t he do it 🥹🙏🏽” she wrote as a caption.
What followed however is netizens flooding her timeline with congratulatory messages, as they joined her in marking the milestone.
Before Kate Actress received the OGW, she had earlier in the day taken to her instagram account to announce to her fans that today would be a good day for her, because something was going to happen.
In her post, the voluptuous mother of two also said that she was going to shed tears of joy after the ‘thing’ happens.

According to reports, the Order of the Grand Warrior (O.G.W) is an award given to individuals in recognition of an outstanding service rendered to the country in different capacities.
