In an interesting turn of events, Sudan Army Leader and member of the Sovereign Council Yasser Al-Atta has directed a very strong message to President William Ruto while challenging him to leave the East African Forces and come to Sudan with Kenya Defence Forces particularly Kenya Army to intervene in the war in Sudan. He has said that the Sudan Army was waiting for him.
“Leave the East African forces and come with your army to intervene and we are waiting for you” Yasser Al-Atta said.
It should be noted that head of state President William Ruto is this lead Mediator in teh Sudan conflict. He was chosen by the IGAD leadership to lead a quartet mediation talks between the warring factions in Sudan.
It had been reported that Sudan had rejected the nomination of President William Ruto to lead the mediation talks.
