Popular Kenyan entertainer Steven Oduor aka DJ Shiti has criticized fellow comedian Gilbert Baraza aka Mtumishi over a recent incident where he publicly said bad things about his mother.
Last month, Mtumishi surprised the whole nation after he stood in front of church members and made some serious allegations against his mother.
While talking to Chipukeezy on the Chipukeezy Show, DJ Shiti said he didn’t like the actions of his former colleague on Churchill Show.
“The other day there was an act I saw and I didn’t like it at all. There is a young man we were doing with comedy, I saw he went to these churches that have come these days, he was given a mic and he started calling out his mother. I saw that act as a very foolish act,” DJ Shiti said.
The former Real Househelps of Kawangware actor said that many people are going through many bad things in silence while noting that Mtushi’s action to speak badly of his parent in public was not appropriate.
He also claimed that the things that his former colleague at Churchill complained about were very minor compared to the things that other people struggle with.
“If you look at the things that you are complaining about, they are very stupid things.. if you go in front of the TV and start burning your mother, people have been treated badly out here. Parents have done bad things to them out here and people have grabbed them. The things he was talking about are not worth burning his parent,” said Shitti.
While speaking at the Jesus Compassion Ministry church service in the middle of last month, Mtumishi claimed that his mother has been practicing witchcraft for many years, something she used to break up her family.
The comedian opened up about how his mother involved him in her witchcraft activities against their father noting that the woman who gave birth to him was not right to do so.
“My mother broke her fence. Why should I say this, he involved me in things that I should not be involved in. When I was young, he used to give me medicine from the doctors, so I would put my father at the door so that when he came, what would he do… Of course, a child always has feelings and is innocent, when my father came, I would tell my mother to give me something to put here and then when he gives it, it becomes a war in the house,” Mtumishi said.
The comedian said that he has a lot of pain and pointed out that even if she dies today, he cannot mourn her completely.
“My mother, let me tell you the truth, even if she dies today, I will not feel anything. For the past two years, since 2021, I have not spoken to him,” he said.
