Police in Makueni are still trying to unravel the mysterious death of AIC Mitamboni church pastor.
The 77-year-old, who went missing on Sunday, was found murdered and body dumped in a dam near his home. The discovery was made on Monday afternoon.
Reports indicate that the elderly man disappeared mysteriously after leaving church. The motorcycle he was riding was found abandoned on the roadside near his house. The family suspected something was amiss when his phone went off and the motorcycle found abandoned on the road. A search was launched leading to the discovery of the body in the dam about 50 metres from where his motorcycle was found. The body had multiple injuries, and the eyes had been gouged out.
Confirming the incident, police said they suspect that the Man of God was abducted by unknown people who later murdered him and dumped the body into the dam. The motive of the cruel act is yet to be established.
