Kenya’s Head of State His Excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto has today broken silence with an afternoon powerful directive to Lands and Physical Planning Principal Secretary Nixon Korir.
Addressing via a press statement, Head of State His Excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto has has ordered Lands and Physical Planning Principal Secretary Nixon Korir to immediately compensate all Kenyan citizens who have occupied the expansive Kiu Wetland, strategically placed at the heart of the vast county of Makueni.
The Head of State His Excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto has divulged that the 83 homesteads occupying the Kiu Wetland will be required to vacate the place once the state has compensated them.
The President underscored that evacuation of Kenyans occupying the aforementioned place will pave way for fencing of the wetland in a strategic move fostered towards preventing potential human encroachment.
“I have been informed that there are 83 homesteads that have occupied the Kiu wetland. The government will compensate everyone who has occupied a portion of the wetland,” President Ruto stated.
