Embattled Meru County Governor Hon Kawira Mwangaza has just arrived at Parliament Buildings, Nairobi city ahead of the hearing of her impeachment case scheduled for today.
The Governor was accompanied by her husband, Musician Murega Baichu and her lawyers, Elias Mutuma and Elisha Ongoya.
The lawyers can be seen carrying weighty bags probably holding defence files for the hearing. The exercise will be held at the Senate Chambers.
From the pictures shared online, the Governor can be seen wearing a gloomy mood as her husband walked in solidarity alongside her towards the Senate Chambers.
In an earlier statement, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi had informed that the impeachment case will be heard by a plenary instead of a special committee.
This is now the second time Governor Kawira is being impeached in a span of less than one year since she survived the previous impeachment.
Will she make history by surviving yet again or she’ll go down as the first ever female governor to go home one year after assuming office?
