Police in Nyandarua are investigating an incident which a 28-year-businessman from Engineer town, Kinangop Constituency was killed under unclear circumstances.
Martin Ng’au Wangui was shot several times on the chest at a close range by unidentified assailants who escaped immediately after the incident. Wangui was heading home from his place of work when he was fatally attacked. After the execution, the assailants fled the scene without stealing anything from him.
Residents who heard the gunshots rushed to the scene and found the victim lying on the ground while bleeding profusely. They rushed him to the nearby health facility where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to area police boss, the reason behind the shooting remains unknown.
The police chief said they have intensified the search for the killers. The body was moved to the nearby morgue for preservation and postmortem. The police asked Wangui’s family to be patient as they seek to unravel the mystery surrounding his murder.
