Former Mungiki leader, Maina Njenga, has disclosed the conditions that Azimio One Alliance leaders are waiting for before they can recommence their third wave of protests against the government.

In recent months, the opposition alliance had organized a series of protests with the aim of pressuring the government to address their concerns. However, these demonstrations were suspended when the Raila-led coalition opted for dialogue with the government, leading to the formation of the National Dialogue Committee.

Njenga, speaking on Radio Maisha, expressed satisfaction with these demonstrations, noting that they were instrumental in establishing the National Dialogue Committee, which is currently addressing the contentious issues.

The leader from the opposition alliance has indicated that they are currently maintaining a lower profile, awaiting the outcomes of committees led by Kalonzo and Ichung’wa.

He stated, “The ongoing dialogue is a direct outcome of the mass protests conducted by Azimio in the country. They have their own concerns, and we have ours.”

“We are patiently awaiting the results of the delegate’s dialogue and their feedback. That’s why it appears we have scaled back our activities,” Maina Njenga remarked.

The National Dialogue Committee was established through collaboration between the Kenya Kwanza government and the Azimio team to address issues stemming from the 2022 elections.
