Major General ( Rtd ) Patrick Amogola served in the military for 42 years until 2022 when he finally bowed out after a stellar career spanning over four decades.

During his four decades in the military, Major General ( Rtd) served in various command positions. He is remembered for being director of special plans at the Defence headquarters.

The now retired General joined the military in 1981 and was commissioned as second lieutenant in 1983. He was then sent to the signals battalion.

The future Major General would then train as helicopter pilot. This would mark the beginning of his colourful career as a soldier.

In 2014, the then Brigadier Amogola was posted to Defence headquarters and appointed as director of special programs.

In 2018, he was among those promoted to the rank of Major General by the then President Uhuru Kenyatta. He would later be appointed as Commandant, Border Security Command.

With the National Defence University-Kenya coming into being in 2021, he was posted to the institution as the Deputy Vice Chancellor in-charge of Adminstration and Finance.

A holder of a Bachelor’s degree from European Central University, Major General ( Rtd) Amogola is now undertaking a Masters degree at Tangaza University College.

The former Kenya Army man is also a holder of multiple Diplomas from the University of Nairobi.

A graduate of the prestigious National Defence College and Defence Staff College, Major General ( Rtd ) once served as Defence Attache to India.

Now, even after exiting the military, the former soldier is still central to the management of National Defence University-Kenya.
