A cloud of mystery hangs over Nairobi’s Mihango area as Evans Moracha, a 47-year-old Uber taxi driver, has gone missing under perplexing circumstances. Moracha disappeared in the dead of night, whisked away from his residence at 1:15 am last Wednesday by unknown assailants, leaving his family in shock and despair.
His family’s relentless search efforts led them to track his vehicle’s movements, revealing a perplexing trail from Nairobi to Murang’a and Kirinyaga before the car was discovered abandoned near his home in Mihango, Embakasi. The abandoned vehicle, parked oddly close to someone’s window, raised suspicions, especially since Teresia Masese, Moracha’s wife, had reported him missing 48 hours after his disappearance.
Teresia Masese now finds herself under police custody, becoming a person of interest in her husband’s disappearance. The arrest took place on Thursday, October 19, at the couple’s residence in the Mihango Area of Utawala. The family is struggling to comprehend how Evans was snatched from his home without a trace, emphasizing that he was not a confrontational person and had no known enemies.
Richard Moracha, Evans’ brother, expressed his disbelief, stating, “It is shocking how someone can be taken from his own house without family members knowing. Even the motive of this whole thing we don’t understand because the way I know Evans, he’s not a confrontational person or a person with deals.”
The baffling case took an unexpected turn when the missing vehicle was found merely a stone’s throw away from Moracha’s residence, contrary to Teresia’s claims that her husband had not returned home since his departure. The discovery deepened the mystery surrounding his disappearance and intensified the family’s quest for answers.
As the investigation continues, the community remains on edge, grappling with the unsettling disappearance of a man known for his amicable nature. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward, shedding light on this perplexing enigma that has left a family in anguish and a community in shock.
