Top social figures are known to celebrate their birthdays by sharing them on the social media accounts. This is what the Nairobi County woman representative Esther Passaris did this morning as she celebrated her 59th birthday.

Passaris who was born on 20th October 1964 shared a warm message as she celebrated the day which is also marked by Kenyans as Heroes Day (mashujaa day).

On a lengthy message she posted, “Today I celebrate turning 59 with gratitude to God and to my parents. I treasure my memories and moments of solitude. I treasure my family, friends and fans alike. Never taking for granted your love. I treasure being comfortable in my skin and loving all of me.”

The ODM elected legislature attached a picture of herself in an uncomfortable position according to Kenyans to go with the message. In the picture Passaris is seen seated on the floor wearing a shirt only and taking what looks like a picture from a mirror.

Netizens on her timeline could not keep to themselves but complain about the choice of her picture, here are some of the comments;

@mbote4real, “At 59 bado unapost thirst traps on social media?”

@MwalimuEpolo, “Such pictures should be left to 18 – 25 year olds.”

Freddy Maina, “Happy birthday. But why this picture your 59 not 18.”

Okoko Dennis, “So 59s pose like that? pose like a 59 year old. Tell Martha karua to give you free classes old ma.”

Harry Son, “Happy birthday mhesh. if you are treating us with this birthday pic at 59, can’t wait till you are ’69’ and see the pic you’ll unveil!”
