Dramatic scene ensued in one of the popular nightclubs in Bomet when two night-workers encaged into a physical fights over a client.
The reports seen in social media indicate that the fight which started with the two women degenerated to a bloody fight as other patrons at the brothel joined in.
As they engaged in the fight, a serious fracas ensued and their friends who were also at the brothel joined in support and it turned into a free-for-all with many customers who were in the hotel were attacked and sustained various degrees of injuries during the fight which lasted for several hours.
This take place when the county has already warned the residents over influx of commercial sex workers targeting men who have earn tea money bonuses.
The arrival of these ‘guests’ – which residents say is not a new phenomenon in this area – once again coincides with the anticipated tea bonuses payout.
According to residents, tea farmers in the area are anticipating annual bonus payments sometimes this month.
“Many young and old women have come here from different parts of the country. Some have already rented houses ready take in clients,” says Joseph Kipkemoi, a resident of Mogogosiek town.
According to the residents – there has been an influx of commercial sex workers specifically in the township of Mogogosiek and Koiwa, Kipkoibet, Kapset, Boito and Kaptebengwet shopping centres.
Some bar operators and lodgings attendants in the area have registered increased business – and they are happy.
The same joy, however, is not shared by many locals, with women already worried that their husbands and sons will waste the money on these ‘guests’.
