Sean Andrew, the grandson of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, is well known for his striking good looks.
However, during a recent interview on the Flo & Frens YouTube channel, he revealed that his handsome appearance once cost him a job opportunity.
According to Sean, he began his commercial modelling career at the age of 17.
The young man shared an incident when an agency rejected him after the final audition due to his appearance.
While he didn’t mention the agency’s name, he described the feedback he received as being “too cute” for the advert.
He expressed his initial confusion and frustration, saying:
“I was like, what, I’m too cute? What does that mean, I’m too cute?”
The brand had apparently decided that he didn’t fit the image they were looking for because he appeared too youthful and “childish.”
Sean added:
“They wanted someone who looks a bit more mature, and you’re just too cute; you look a bit childish.”
Sean didn’t shy away from sharing his emotional reaction to the rejection.
“I was like, waah, okay, what do I do… I just remember being so upset I threw my phone into a bush, and I just ended up crying and then I got drunk,” he continued.
