Celebrated Kenyan journalist Namukabo Werungah has announced to the whole world that she has officially left the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
The award-winning journalist has infact now joined The New Humanitarian, which is an independent, non-profit news agency that reports on matters of conflicts and disasters.

Namukabo Werungah infact announced the big news via her instagram account, where she further revealed that she will be a reporter and an editor.
In the post the award-winning journalist was clearly over the moon to have landed the new job, and promised to use her past experience to perform exemplary.
“I have joined @newhumanitarian TNH as a reporter and editor, where I will be combining my decade-long storytelling experience from the BBC, NMG and my training in peace and conflict to bring you stories of humanitarian crises from across the globe….” she wrote in part.
Namukabo Werungah added:
“…My career has been fueled by hundreds of people who entrust me to tell their stories, and therefore, my loyalty and commitment have always been with and remain with the story owners.
To tell their stories authentically, truthfully, and with the utmost respect. I am excited to continue doing this at TNH. Whenever a humanitarian crisis arises, I’ll be bringing you the human aspect of the story. Wish me luck, won’t you?”.
The disclosure by Namukabo Werungah however elicited some congratulatory messages from netizens, among them her former colleague at BBC Akisa Wandera.
“Just see my girl! 😍 God has truly been faithful. Congratulations @misskabo. Soar!” She wrote.
It should be noted that Namukabo Werungah has left the BBC after working there for about 5 years.
The award-winning journalist actually joined the international media house after calling it quits with the Nation Media Group-owned station NTV in August 2018.
Ar the time that Namukabo Werungah was leaving NTV, she took to her Facebook account and wrote an emotional message saying:
“When it all started. Was I even getting four years at the Nation Media Group? Hii kampuni imenijenga why lie. Today, I bid NTV goodbye, I will forever be grateful for the opportunity and to the great team that has helped build my career”.
Namukabo Werungah who is reportedly an alumnus of the USIU actually joined NTV in 2014, where he worked as a reporter for 4 years.
