Residents have also been turning out in large numbers since the President began his tours. This is despite the residents having voted overwhelmingly for Raila in 2022 general elections.
The warm reception has caused reactions among Kenyans and even Politicians with some claiming that the region is now ready to work with the President.

One of those who have reacted is city politician Alinur Mohamed. Taking to his official social media pages, the Orange Democratic Movement party politician warned that ODM and the former Prime minister should be worried after Ruto’s visit.
He claimed that the region is now shifting and the Orange Democratic Movement party could lose support.
“Away from Israel, Hamas, Gaza, Palestinian. Back home, President William Ruto and his UDA party and Kenya Kwanza Coalition have ambushed all the Luo Nyanza Counties, and Ground is shifting very fast. Raila Odinga and ODM should be worried about this.” Alinur Mohamed posted on his official social media pages.
