Kenya Kwanza lawmakers have confidently assured Kenyans that they will not accept or pass any bill in Parliament that favours the LGBTQ community in kenya.
While addressing believers of ACK Kapsabet Diocese Church, the lawmakers maintained that Kenya is a God-fearing country and that the country will always follow church teachings.
“I was surprised to see that the Supreme Court continues to insist that the LGBTQ community must be registered as an NGO. I think the constitution is very clear that marriage is a man and wife.” Senator Cherargei said.
The sanator also pleaded with the archbishop of ACK to play for the supreme court judges so that they could be filled with the holy spirit and not the evil one of supporting the LGBTQ thing.
Also, Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a was not left behind in speaking about the LGBTQ matter. “We cannot accept such a thing in parliament or debate it in the house,” she said.
These MPs are responding to a Supreme Court ruling dated September 12, 2023. The Supreme Court threw out MP Peter Kaluma’s petition challenging the LGBTQ ruling. This happened during the 7th anniversary of ACK Kapsabet Diocese Church and the fundraiser for the construction of ACK Plaza in Kapsabet Town.
