In a fierce exchange of gunfire, the police officers in Migori County were forced to shoot one local pastor who was involved in planning business robberies.
According to police and The Star’s publication on September 15, the police were tipped off on how the pastor and his gang members planned to attack and rob a local business in Migori.
As the police tried to pursue the gang members, gunfire emerged between them and the gang. The heavy gunfight led to the shooting and killing of 3 suspected members of the team.
The police managed to arrest 3 other gang members. Migori County police boss Peter Kimani also revealed that an AK-47 rifle, bullets, and other items were recovered.
The police have launched a crackdown to arrest all the other colleagues of the arrested suspects. Those who were arrested will be arraigned in court on Friday morning. More details are expected after the processing of the case.
