Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has also taken to comment on the increased price of fuel as he takes President William Ruto head on after a video emerged on Ruto complaining on the rise of fuel prices in the country.
In the video, Ruto is heard attributing the then high prices of fuel in the country to cartels which had taken the energy sector captive. Ruto in the video wondered how the price of fuel in Uganda could be cheaper than in Kenya yet the fuel in Uganda passes through Kenya.
While reacting to this statement by the head of state, former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has questioned if the President was lying on the fuel cartels and why the government has not dismantled the cartels.
Mutunga has gone ahead to question why the President has not collected taxes from the cartels and the rich and has asked if Ruto himself has paid taxes.
“Is he lying about cartels? What we should ask him is why his hustler government has not dismantled the cartels. Why he has not collected taxes from the cartels and the rich. We should further ask him if he has paid taxes and if he has dismantled his cartels. Mambo ni Matatu.” Mutunga wrote.
