In the country, most Kenyans have been struggling with the high cost of living, and some of them have been using other alternatives. Further, the government of President William Ruto has been confirming that it will reduce the cost of essential commodities, including maize flour, sugar, and even fuel. Yesterday, the government increased the prices of fuel in the country, and this will also lead to high transportation costs. Also, most factories in the country that have been using fuel might decide to increase the prices of their commodities.

According to the source, new details have just emerged about the cost of sugar in the country, some hours after the government announced new fuel prices in the country. As per the latest updates shared by a well-known source this hour and at the same time circulating on social media, it has been revealed that Kenyans are now paying Ksh 440 for a 2kg bag of sugar. Last year Kenyans were paying Ksh 220 for the same kilograms of sugar. Also, it has been revealed that prices of some essential commodities, including maize flour, have remained high in the country.

This just came in after the government announced that it would reduce the prices of fertilizer in the country, which will help farmers grow more food. Further, the new taxes imposed on different commodities in the country have been forcing poor Kenyans to pay more for essential commodities like cooking oil and soap.

Let us hope that the government will address this issue because many Kenyans are really struggling to buy.
