The government has swiftly moved to close down the recently launched branch of Pastor Ezekiel’s church in Nyeri County, only two weeks after its inauguration. The closure has left many questioning the motives behind this abrupt action.

According to reports, police officers conducted a raid on the church premises, where they allegedly seized an undisclosed amount of money that was stored in envelopes. Additionally, all attendees were ordered to disperse immediately. These actions have raised concerns among the church’s followers and leadership.

Pastor Ezekiel’s church has been making headlines recently, drawing both admiration and skepticism for its rapid expansion to different parts of the country. The lead preacher at the Nyeri branch, Martin David Manyasi, has expressed his dismay at the government’s intervention, suggesting that it may be an attempt to hinder the church’s growth.

Adding a layer of complexity to the situation, Pastor Ezekiel’s lawyer, Samson Nyaberi, has pointed out the existence of a court order that should have prevented the closure of the New Life Church. He has raised questions about the government’s adherence to legal processes in this matter.

As the controversy unfolds, it remains unclear what prompted the government’s decision to close down the church branch and seize funds. Many are eagerly awaiting further developments and clarification on the legal aspects surrounding this closure.
