It’s truly remarkable to witness the astounding growth of Eastleigh. Once a serene residential neighborhood primarily inhabited by individuals from the Indian Sub-Continent, as well as pockets of Somalis, Seychellois, and Arabs, the transformation it has undergone is beyond belief. Former residents would be amazed by the complete makeover the neighborhood has undergone.
Prior to my election as an MP, the Kamukunji area, where Eastleigh is situated, suffered from significant neglect. The roads were in a state of disrepair, the streets lacked proper lighting, and our security was a constant source of concern.
However, significant strides have been made since then. We’ve constructed dual-carriageway roads that have improved transportation, our streets now shine brightly which has eased movement of people and local businesses operate well into the night. With the establishment of more police stations, criminal activities have been curbed, leading to a notable reduction in crime within the area.
Our focus on fostering a conducive environment for business and investment has led to an influx of individuals from Kenya and around the globe. This renewed interest is a testament to the progress we’ve made in Eastleigh”. Said Yusuf Hassan Kamukunji MP.
