Kenyans mostly depends on the things that have been imported to the nation as they feel they are much better than what has been locally made. The Kenya Kwanza Alliance government has been trying to encourage Kenyans to support the local market to enable the nation grow and make local goods.
Today on Thursday 17th August 2023, President William Ruto has officially announced the ban on the importation of things from China. Ruto said that the government will not allow the importation of beds from China to Kenya and yet they can be locally made.
While drumming up his support to the local carpenters, President William Ruto said that making a bed is very simple within the nation. He said one just requires some timbers, hammer and nails and everything will be made locally. Will this help Kenyan manufacturers from exploitation from the international markets?
