According to the information provided, parents of children participating in the failed Uasin Gishu County Scholarship program created by then-Gov and current Sen. Jackson Mandago have revealed that they plan to hold nonviolent protests during the Devolution Conference, which will be formally opened by the President on Thursday, to demand a refund of their money.
The irate parents are demanding a refund from Mandago and have threatened to disrupt the devolution conference with peaceful protests if they don’t get it.ALs a keynote speaker at the event, Raila has also been invited.
If they carry out their threats, there will be a showdown because Douglas Kanja, the deputy inspector general of Kenyan police, is in charge of maintaining security throughout the day.
The DIG assured guests of their security and said that they had put in place mechanisms to handle any circumstance.
