Gabriel Oguda has disclosed on his Social Media account that non-locals in Mandera County are living in fear of travelling back to their rural homes during this holiday period. He stated that the constant attacks orchestrated by the Al-Shabaab along the roads have made many rethink their travel plans.

He went ahead and alleged that the Police have refused to escort buses from Mandera to secure them from Al-Shabaab attacks. He added that the airfare has hit Ksh 20,000 per person making it difficult for the non-locals to use this alternative means

“Non-locals living in Mandera County have been banned from travelling back home by road for fear of being attacked by Al Shabaab terrorists,” Gabriel Oguda said.

“The Gov’t has refused to provide police escort to the buses out of Mandera, while a one-way airfare from Mandera has hit Sh20,000 per person. Now people can’t take advantage of the holidays to travel back home and be with their families and no one in Gov’t wants to talk about their suffering,” he added.

Oguda further accused the Interior CS Kithure Kindiki of failing to address the insecurity issues in Mandera and instead attacking Raila on all public occasions.

“But when the Interior CS is given a microphone to address these issues, all he thinks about is barking at Raila Odinga,” stated Gabriel Oguda.
