Famous lawyer, content creator and businesswoman Maureen Waititu revealed in an interview with Dr Kingor’i why she does not allow her baby daddy Frankie Just Gymit and the men she dates to enter her house.
About her baby daddy, Maureen said that she has to set boundaries and one of them is not allowing them to enter her house so as to make the person she is dating to feel secure.
Maureen said, “First of all there has to be definite respect and it starts with me. I have to make it very clear that our connection is the kids. Hizo benefits zingine ni story za jaba. The reality is that if I don’t have boundaries with the father of my kids, no matter how secure my partner is he will definitely be uncomfortableā¦ Even when am living in my own home, personally I don’t think he should enter my house. He should drop the kids at the gate or the door and go away.”
She went further to state that setting boundaries with the baby daddy is a way of showing her partner that he is just the father of her kids, nothing more and nothing less.
About inviting the people she dates to her house, Maureen said that it is something she cannot do because that is her children’s home.
That in the world of today people date and breakup after some months and she does not want to confuse her kids by introducing different men to them.
According to Maureen, it is only appropriate to introduce a man to her kids when she is absolutely sure that he is the one she wants to settle with.
She said, “I am very protective of the people I have around them so that they don’t start asking questions like uncle so and so was here and now there is another one. If I keep exposing them to all the uncles there will definitely be a problemā¦ My house is my kids home. I can meet with someone out there until we reach a point where I am sure this is the person then I will introduce him to them well.”
Maureen stated that different single mothers have different ways of dealing with dating and parenting but for her protecting her kids from the trauma of seeing different people is one of her priorities.
