After explaining why he doesn’t pay his rent, a Kenyan man startled the listeners of Classic 105.
The story of Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i’s fate was told by a man who lived in the affluent Lavington neighborhood.
Women were buying homes and hiding them from their spouses in the conversation, but the caller said that males also do this.
“I reside in Lavington, and my landlord vanished without a trace. He never showed up. I’ve missed my third rent payment this year. I wonder whether he has family,” the caller said.
The occupant conjectured that the landlord may have died and his family was unaware of the property.
Maina questioned, “Do you know his family?” “No. He handed me the house after I started looking for one. I paid him rent for about a year.”
He used to personally come to collect rent but has since vanished,” he said.
The tenant added that he had no means to find the landlord but hoped he would come back at some point.
I’m merely here to cover his rent. He will arrive on the day he says he will. Hope he shows up. I never fail to pay his rent.
Kenyans responded to the story in a variety of ways, with some joking that their landlords should do the same.
