Siaya county Governor Hon James Orengo has now made damning claims on what allegedly conspired during the anti-government demonstrations that were recently suspended.
Speaking in Bondo during an interdenominational prayer requiem led by the Azimio Chief Raila Odinga on Friday, August 10, Orengo said that the shooting of protestors witnessed during the protests was well organized by the government’s top officials.
According to the governor, the shoot-to-kill order was given during a National Security Council (NSC) meeting that was allegedly chaired by the Head of State, Dr William Ruto.
“I want to tell you and tell the whole nation that the killing during Maandamano was something that was planned in the national security council chaired by Ruto,” Governor Orengo said.
During the demos, it’s reported that over thirty people lost their lives through shootings from the police while others sustained severe injuries from beatings and teargas canisters.
The demos are currently suspended to allow joint talks to be held between the Opposition and the Kenya Kwanza side.
