After faithfully serving his 2 years suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) which was as a result of a failed doping tests, Kenyan sprinter Mark Otieno marked his return to track on 1st August 2023.His first race in two years was in Italy on Tuesday August 8, 2023 where he clocked 10.39 seconds finishing second.After the race, Otieno was humbled on his return indicating that he is taking one step at a time.
“I am humbled and grateful that I get to do this again.Came 2nd with 10.39 seconds for my first race back.The work continues.One step at a time,” Otieno wrote on his social media platforms.
His fellow Kenyan sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala has welcomed him back indicating that he is happy for him on his return.
“Happy to see you back! A great friend and competitor.Brothers in arms.One step at a time” Omanyala wrote on his social media platforms as he shared the video of Otieno’s race in Italy.
