International music TV channel Trace has now introduced a local channel, Trace Mziki, a music channel that will only feature East African urban music – a new dawn in showbiz TV that has been welcomed by Kenyan musicians.
A number of music stars among them Jaguar, Nameless and Nonini as well as Frasha of P-Unit have welcomed the move saying the new channel had the potential of opening up local music to the world. Launched last week, Trace Mziki will serve as the premiere destination for East African music lovers, featuring videos of the best contemporary East African music hits as well as exclusive specials and documentaries.
