Otieno Joshua, a city attorney, was today brought before a milimani court for a tweet he sent a few days ago regarding the rallies and demonstrations that were taking place across the nation.
The lawyer is alleged to have tweeted that after the three days of demonstration, the military, led by Francis Ogola, the commander of the Kenyan defence forces, will take control of the nation. This information comes from the affidavit that was submitted to the court.
The prosecution was informed that the lawyer’s post contributed to national unease and violated Kenyan law, which shields President William Ruto and his administration from malicious claims made by some Kenyans.
However, the attorney denied the allegations, stating that the tweet was just an exercise of his right to free expression and was not intended to generate panic at Harvard or anywhere else in the nation.
