Former President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed his deep gratitude to his successor, President William Ruto, in a sincere interview with Media Editors on Monday.

Uhuru emphasised that power is a transitory and ephemeral force, urging him to keep his attention on the development agenda for the people of Kenya. He warned Ruto against abusing his position of power and reminded him of his duty to provide the country with effective leadership.

Even if he didn’t support Ruto when he served as his deputy, the former President admitted that he had done his duty and handed over authority to his successor in a dignified manner. In a sincere tone, he counselled Ruto to place a high priority on the welfare of the country and the welfare of its people while he was in power.

“President Ruto, remember that our time in power may be limited, but the impact we make on the lives of the people endures. “Let us strive to leave a lasting legacy of progress and prosperity for Kenya,” the ex-president told Ruto.
