New developments have emerged in the ongoing conflict between Azimio and Kenya Kwanza across the country. Presently, it has been disclosed that the National Assembly Majority leader has expressed willingness to initiate discussions with Azimio. However, he strongly emphasized that the talks should exclusively focus on matters concerning the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and nothing else.
“I want to agree with our religious leaders that we are ready to resume the bipartisan talks with that singular agenda of reconstituting our IEBC commissioners so that we can continue with the by-elections of other constituencies and wards that don’t have leaders because of the paralysis at IEBC,” Ichungwah said.
This decision came after religious leaders called for dialogue to ensure justice is upheld and to prevent the division of Kenya into two. The key uncertainty lies in whether Ruto will agree to this proposal and be open to initiating talks.
