The president, Hon. William Samoei Ruto, was accompanied to Vihiga and Kisiii County by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, and a segment of the Kenya Kwanza coalition team, where he attended a public rally with citizens thronging the event.
Kimani Ichungwa, a close ally of President Ruto, gives a remark regarding yesterday’s Karen Saga.
In what looks to be a direct response to yesterday’s drama in which former President Uhuru Kenyatta claimed the government is after his family, Uhuru Kenyatta has today stated that he has no plans to exact revenge on his political adversary and is instead focused on delivering on his 2022 Pre-election pledges.
He increased pressure on President William Ruto, accusing him of destabilizing the country by siding with Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family.
Ichungwa urged all Kisii leaders to come together to promote peace and togetherness, saying that it is now time to set aside their differences and work together.
Ichung’wah ridiculed Uhuru for protecting his son after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) raided his residence in Karen on July 21.
The Kikuyu MP also said Uhuru is supporting the Azimio la Umoja protests. He further stated that police stormed Jomo Kenyatta’s home on suspicion of having 20 guns.
The majority leader encouraged Ruto to carry out his presidential duties and protect Kenyans from rogue licensed gun owners.”You saw some complaining yesterday that their children were being harassed by police. Why do you have firearms in your house, what battles are you fighting in your house,” he questioned.
Ichung’wah went on to accuse Uhuru of sabotaging Ruto even as the present Head of State works to create jobs for the youth, who he claims are being used to destroy property during the continuous anti-government protests.
Ichungwa went on to say that the former president causes economic difficulties in the country by squandering public funds and hiding them outside the country.
He reveals what the finance committee is doing to gather sufficient proof of what happened in the “Pandora Papers,” stating that even a past president can be prosecuted if he or she is a victim of a crime.
