The major military appointments come on the day Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance are holding demonstrations across the country to compel President William Ruto to address the high cost of living.
It should be known that few days ago, there were other appointments made in the military which saw a number of promotions and postings in various departments.
The changes in the military comes amid powerful messages directed to the head of state.
Some including Mutahi Ngunyi has sent a powerful message to William Ruto following Mama Ngina’s planned raid on Wednesday during anti-government protests by Azimio la Umoja coalition.
The controversial political analyst has conveyed a message directed at William Ruto, urging him to recognize the unpredictability of crowds, especially during protests.
Ngunyi has warned that such gatherings as planned by Raila Odinga can easily turn violent and dangerous.
In light of this, he also expressed concern about an upcoming plan where Mama Ngina, a respected figure in the country, is set to be present at her Muthaiga home during the protests, which could attract hostile elements within the crowd.
In his message, Ngunyi cautioned against perpetuating animosity and aggression in politics.
Ngunyi has further urged William Ruto not to instigate confrontations that could have dire consequences afterwards, not just for him but also for others, including their families.
He went further to emphasized that there is no difference between William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta, the former President, when it comes to the impact of incendiary actions.
He also beseeched all political players to act responsibly and leave innocent and respected mothers and families out of their political disputes. Ngunyi also emphasized the need to engage in political battles as men, without involving innocent and vulnerable individuals who hold no opinions over political decisions.
The underlying plea in Mutahi Ngunyi’s powerful message to William Ruto is for a more mature and thoughtful approach to political discourse in the country.
Ngunyi further emphasized that initiating a trend of violence and targeting innocent family members will only lead to further escalation in political temperatures and the consequences could be grave.
