David Ndii, an economic adviser to the Kenya Kwanza government, found himself at the center of controversy today when he made allegations about his friends benefiting from President Ruto’s money during the BBI era.
Ndii’s claims caused a stir, especially considering his previous collaboration with Martha Karua in creating the Linda Katiba movement, which aimed to oppose the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) championed by Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies.
Ndii took the opportunity to criticize his former allies, who have now joined the Azimio movement, calling them hypocrites and revealing that they had allegedly received financial support from President Ruto. These allegations raised eyebrows and triggered a response from Martha Karua, who firmly refuted Ndii’s claims, stating that she had no knowledge of any money coming from Ruto.
In response to the defamation allegations made by David Ndii, Boniface Mwangi, another prominent figure in the Linda Katiba movement, has decided to take legal action. Mwangi’s lawyer has initiated the process to file a lawsuit, arguing that his client’s reputation has been tarnished.
Mwangi vehemently denied receiving any money from anyone and asserted that he had volunteered his own resources to the movement. He challenged Ndii to present his side of the story in court, urging him to defend his claims.
The controversy surrounding David Ndii’s allegations has created a rift among former allies who once united against the BBI.
