The upper leadership of the Mulembe nation’s façade of unity has been dispelled by the developments in Luhyaland.
It has now been revealed that William Ruto, the former vice president and presidential contender for the 2022 elections, has persuaded Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetangula (FORD-K) to join him in Kenya Kwanza’s coalition. This follows what at first appeared to be a strong front with Ruto. cracks in the political coalition.
There is a long history of political escalation between the Maragoli of Vihiga County and the Bukusu of Bungoma County.
While the majority of the Bukusu population identifies with the opposition, the Maragoli community frequently supports the ruling party. However, this dynamic altered last year.
During the same rally, Beatrice Adagala, the Vihiga Woman Representative and ANC deputy party leader, openly referred to herself as a “daughter of Wetang’ula.”
This gesture signifies shifting alliances and growing dissatisfaction within the Mulembe nation. If elected leaders themselves voice complaints about Mudavadi’s aloofness and inaccessibility, what chances do ordinary voters have to interact with him?
