While most of the attention about the Azimil protest was focused on Kisumu and Nairobi CBD, it appears as if police in Kitengela have not had an easy time.
As per reports by a reliable source, it appears as if the office of the local chief and that of the assistant district commissioner in Kitengela might need some repair. This is after protesters allegedly raided and torched the offices.
As per the source, important documents such as collected identity cards and some government documents were destroyed by the protesters who managed to get access to the office.
Even though it is not clear whether anyone in the mentioned offices was hurt, it is not clear how the protesters got access to the offices or why they targeted the offices. However, some youth who are yet to collect their identity cards might have to reapply for the cards or rather apply for a replacement as they may be destroyed.
